For those ready to do more than just skate forward during session, this class will give participants more tools to improve their social skating experience. The 4-week course covers a mix of rhythm, style, and artistic skating skills meant to improve balance, strength, and confidence while skating forward, and introduces basic backward skating skills. Skills covered will include crossovers, standing on 1 foot for extended periods of time, scissors, stopping without toe stops, backward skating and backward crossovers, and turning around both forward and backward using 2 feet.
Course registration includes skate rental and entry to the 7-9:30 PM Open Skate Session following class each week. Level I/II skaters must clear the main skating floor from 6-7 PM but may practice on the side floors while waiting for the Open Skate Session to begin.
